Here's a headline you don't see every day--

Apparently California is now going to ask for "volunteers" to administer Valium for certain seizures. I have no doubt they'll get the volunteers--- there's 10% unemployment, and people working in schools will do what is asked. But it's a bad idea. Here in Illinois, we now have volunteers being recruited for diabetes management in schools. It's also a bad idea, compared to having health professionals working in every school.

We're not that kind of nation any more. Taxes are killing us. When you really think about it, there isn't anything in a school nurse's day that can't be divvied up among the faculty and staff, so I say bring it.
