Schools App is a third-party Facebook application created by Inigral that will allow you to create a private, branded social network for your students within Facebook that will engage them in ways that Pages and Groups can't.
How it's different
Facebook Pages are built for mass communication, not real engagement. Think of them kind of like a modern day mailing list. Facebook Groups are a little better but aren't built for larger audiences, like your incoming class.
