N.J. teacher raises average 3.4 percent, survey finds

TRENTON — A survey of recently signed contracts showed New Jersey teachers are accepting average raises of 3.35 percent for the next school year, which was lower than the 4.35 percent average this past year, a report on NorthJersey.com said.
The New Jersey School Boards Association tracked the 33 contracts settled since January, according to the report. This average does not include the 12 districts where teachers agreed to the one-year wage freeze called by Gov. Chris Christie, the report said.
