Obama’s Ed Dept puts Hawaii’s Race to Top grant on high-risk status

Hawaii may be delighted that President Obama and his family are spending the holidays in his home state, but it is perhaps not so enamored with his Education Department at the moment.

Department officials have written a letter to Gov. Neil Abercrombie (D) saying that the state’s $75 million Race to the Top grant is now on “high-risk status.”
