THE TWO A DAY SOLUTION
I have a new plan that is going to revitalize elementary schools everywhere. It will reenergize teachers and bring a solution to the problem of overworked teachers. I’m calling the plan, “THE TWO A DAY SOLUTION.”
In a self-contained classroom, one teacher will start the day by arriving at school at 6:30 in the morning. That teacher will have two hours to prepare for the school morning. Everything will be perfectly organized and all set to go when the students arrive at 8:30. That teacher will then teach the class until lunch time at noon. The second teacher of that self-contained class will arrive at noon and consult with the first teacher during the student lunchtime. The two teachers will review the proceedings of the morning and plan the afternoon activities. The first teacher’s day will end at 12:30. That teacher will have spent six hours at the school and their day is now done. (Except to grade papers and do what most teachers do at home that is related to school).
