Pension talking points.
When calling a state representative on Pension Call Tuesday (or any other day), here are four simple truths about SB 512:
1. We have always paid into and met our obligations to the Teacher Retirement System.
2. The State of Illinois has not. Fairness dictates that we not be punished.
3. Senate Bill 512 violates Article III, Section 5 of the state constitution.
4. The proposed changes would further destabilize the state’s financial situation.
