This day we leave Utah and enter Colorado. Dove Creek, Colorado is surrounded by bean fields. Interestingly enough, years ago, some folks retrieved some beans that had been stored by the ancient native dwellers of this region, the Anasazi. Today one can purchase Anasazi beans, one of the three major crops that were grown by Native Americans. One of the most famous Anasazi sites, Mesa Verde, is only a bike ride’s distance away.
