CTA President Released
CTA President David A. Sanchez has been released from jail. Word of the release came at 10:58 a.m.
The CTA leader and 26 other Capitol Insiders – the “Dutton 13″ and the “Conway 14″ — were taken into custody Thursday evening when they refused to leave the corridors outside the Capitol offices of the two Republican leaders until the two GOP lawmakers had agreed to provide votes needed for a temporary tax extension and a budget that would protect schools and students from another $4.1 billion in cuts.
Word has not yet been received about the status of the 26 other captives.
