UNCERTIFIED TEACHERS MAY BRING FEDERAL SANCTIONS AGAINST LYNWOOD UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT


LYNWOOD — The Lynwood Unified School District is being sanctioned by the federal government for not being compliant with the No Child Left Behind Law after the district’s new director of human resources reported that a handful of teachers here have not been fully credentialed for more than eight years.

Due to recent demographic changes affecting California, public schools required a reconsideration of the basic preparation for new teachers, and the specialized upgrade preparation for all teachers who instruct students whose first language is not English.
