Teacher-Librarians Are the Knowledge Brokers of a School
I'm reading the article "Teaching the iGeneration," in the the February 2011 issue of Educational Leadership, and was stunned to see that Mr. Rosen missed such a critical resource. He talks about knowledge brokers, people who can help teachers sort out the information riches available online, and suggested students or parents.
But teacher-librarians are the knowledge brokers of a school. We manage and share information all day long. It's our area of expertise! It's our job! We can also help teachers learn to use the technologies of the iGeneration, set up online
