Deputy Assistant Secretary Glenn Cummings to Participate in Forum on Transforming American Education

Glenn Cummings, deputy assistant secretary for vocational and adult education, will participate in a forum entitled “Getting Back in the Race: Fixing American Education,” on Friday, June 4, from 9-10:30 a.m. at the National Press Club. The forum, which features eight leaders in U.S. education, will be moderated by Michael Crow, president of Arizona State University.

U.S. Department of Education Assistant Secretary Thelma Meléndez de Santa Ana will keynote the 8th annual Hispanic Business Magazine’s Woman of the Year Awards Luncheon, where she also will be honored as Woman of the Year. In her luncheon remarks, Meléndez de Santa Ana will discuss some of the core challenges facing the nation’s public schools and solutions to fix them.
