In the Classroom (based on "In the Ghetto," written by Mac Davis, sung by Elvis)
As the tests fly
With a cold and grayish Common Corin',
A poor little baby child is bored
In the classroom.
And his teacher cries
'Cause if there's one thing that she don't need
Its another eager mind to bleed
In the classroom.
People, don't you understand
The child needs a helping hand
Or he'll grow to be an angry student someday?
Take a look at you and me,
Are we too blind to see?
Do we simply prep for the test
And look the other way.
Well the world turns
And a failing little boy with academic woes
Closes his ears and mind to endless noes
In the classroom.
And he fails to learn.
So he starts to roam the halls all day
With a cold and grayish Common Corin',
A poor little baby child is bored
In the classroom.
And his teacher cries
'Cause if there's one thing that she don't need
Its another eager mind to bleed
In the classroom.
People, don't you understand
The child needs a helping hand
Or he'll grow to be an angry student someday?
Take a look at you and me,
Are we too blind to see?
Do we simply prep for the test
And look the other way.
Well the world turns
And a failing little boy with academic woes
Closes his ears and mind to endless noes
In the classroom.
And he fails to learn.
So he starts to roam the halls all day
