DIRTY DANCING AND TEACHABLE MOMENTS

Students around the Chicago suburbs are rebelling against school rules designed to prevent “dirty dancing” at school dances such as Homecoming Dances.  At one high school a student has organized a dance outside of the school sanctioned dance, and the school reportedly has tried to thwart the “rival” dance. The student is claiming foul, is threatening to sue, and has the backing of his parents. The student and his friends want to be able to dance the way they want and can’t understand why the school is trying to prevent them from doing so.
School boards, administrators, and teachers, please wake up. STOP TRYING TO PREVENT STUDENTS FROM DOING WHAT THEY WANT, it only leads to trouble.
