Parents at a struggling Bedford-Stuyvesant public school say the city is playing favorites - pushing their children out so a charter school that's already in the building can expand.

Public School 256 on Kosciusko St. has been sharing space with the Community Partnership Charter School since last year. Angry PS 256 parents blame budget and program cuts for their school's most recent F rating - and for its spot on the city's list of 20 schools that could be scrapped.

They charge the city is trying to push their kids out so the co-located charter school can bring its K-through-4 school - now located at Public School 270 - into the PS 256 building.

"Little by little, they're doing things to phase us out," said PTA member Jimmy Dinkins. "It is not a coincidence, this is reality."

Dinkins, who has two daughters attending the school, said the F grade the school
