You could have stocked some very nice school libraries with the money spent chauffeuring Eddie Burke hither and yon and protecting him from nothing. Seriously, if you took the sum total of Eddie Burke's lifetime accomplishments and subtracted them from the historical record, nobody would notice except the cops who were allowed to go out and do actual police work.
