Herman Cain says the “Federal Government Shouldn’t be in the Business of Micromanaging Education”

Add businessman and GOP presidential hopeful Herman Cain to the list of influential republican opponents of the federal control of education policy. Writes Shane Vander Hart:

I thought I’d give Herman Cain some props for a state he made in the Fox News/Iowa GOP debate in Ames, IA. Education wasn’t really discussed much until the very end. Herman Cain at the end of tonight’s debate was asked about No Child Left Behind. He said that he would not extend it, and that education belongs at the local level, and that the “Federal government should be out of the business of micromanaging education.”
