Statement Denouncing Bill de Blasio’s Support of Charter Co-locations

He is attempting to oppose co-locations while simultaneously supporting them. In reality, however, Mr. de Blasio supports co-locations. The NYC Parents Union and our members who challenge the co-locations at their schools do not agree with the Public Advocate’s position and we must express our deep disappointment with his flip-flop approach to this issue.Mr. de Blasio has attempted to position himself as an ally of parents when it comes to charter school co-locations. Yet he announced today a number of alleged “reforms” to the co-location process that had not been shared with parents in advance for meaningful review and input.
