Today, it was announced that ousted DC union President George Parker will join Michelle Rhee as her senior fellow. This shouldn’t be a shocker although one must feel sad for Parker. After all, he was a weak leader, he got the boot, he needed a job. And Rhee has more to gain in this transaction–she needs a fig leaf for her anti-union crusade.

Just two weeks ago, Rhee told a Tea Party- backed summit that her organization, “a new organized and national interest group advocating for school choice is ready to compete against the American Federation of Teachers for political pull.” (link) In other words, she envisions herself as leading the counterforce to the unions in pursuit of corporate-driven education “reform.”

Rhee was booted out by DC voters who widely viewed the mayoral election as a referendum on her. Her downfall
