UC system reports lowest admission rates
It was a tough year to get into the University of California, data released this morning shows. With a larger number of students seeking a college education and budget cuts reducing the university's ability to serve them, seven out of nine UC campuses reported their lowest admission rates on record.
UC Davis admitted 44.5 percent of applicants -- compared with 46.2 percent last year. UC Berkeley admitted 24.5 percent of applicants, compared with 29.5 percent last year.
