SACRAMENTO, CA - Realizing the importance of knowing more than just English, the San Juan Unified School District will offer a Dual Language English/Spanish Immersion program at Edison Elementary.
According to William Spalding, the program manager for the district's English Learner and Multicultural Education department, the immersion program is set to start this fall even though other programs are being cut.
Spalding said teachers have seen great success in other immersion programs at various schools and hope their students can benefit especially in the formative years when language learning is critical.
