Elk Grove teachers, staff fight layoffs
ELK GROVE, CA - Elk Grove Unified School District teachers and staff who received layoff notices are arguing their cases before an administrative law judge at district headquarters over the next three days.
Arguments from elementary grade teachers and staff were to be heard Monday. At issue is who should be on the layoff list. The determination will be made on date of hire, advance degrees, credentials, years of service, and who holds single subject credentials.
