TRS Executive Director Ingram was taken to task at the October board meeting.
On two occasions in the past year Richard Ingram, the Executive Director of the Illinois Retirement System, has spoken out on issues that did not fall within his pay grade.
Ingram’s job is essentially to run the system in a way that serves the interests of people like me, members of the retirement system who depend of the promises made when I was first hired 30 years ago.
Most recently Ingram seemed to call on the legislature to cut COLA benefits. Many members were outraged, as Ingram’s public pronouncements seemed more like those coming form the Civic Committee and Ty Fahner than from someone who is charged with protecting member benefits.
