When Valerie Strauss did her piece the other day on the 8 people that made Wendy Kopp's list of “The World’s 7 Most Powerful Educators,” the only thing that surprised me was that Wendy Kopp, herself, was not at the top of Wendy Kopp's list. Coming as it did on the heels of the the essay by former TFA recruiter, Gary Rubenstein (reprinted below), it's easy to see Wendy's ridiculous and self-serving list as another PR effort in a long, long list of PR efforts by an outfit that spends more on recruiting and advertising than it
