News flash – A teacher in central Illinois has been suspended after showing segments of Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” in his high school class. Have you seen this on the news ?
Note to teachers everywhere: Have you not been listening to me? NEVER SHOW ANY DVD, VIDEO, TELEVISION SHOW OR MOVIE TO YOUR CLASS UNLESS IT IS SPECIFICALLY PART OF THE REQUIRED CURRICULUM! How many times do I have to say this? Stop giving the news media ammunition to supply to the teacher bashers of the world. Stop embarrassing your profession.
Never try to be creative, clever, cute, spontaneous, imaginative, inspiring or anything that requires you to veer from the specific curriculum. ADD NOTHING TO THE CURRICULUM.
