An article in The Nation the other day about the best protest songs started a thread on my Facebook page.

My old friend Charlie Costigan picked Johnny Paycheck’s Take This Job and Shove it.
Marja complained about the fact that so many of the picks were old and wanted something more current.
My daughter Jessica complied with a long list of more contemporary political songs, including the latest by Lupe Fiasco.
My brother Mike suggested something by the
Old school.
