Long Beach Unified, Long Beach City College and Cal State University Long Beachare all straining under budget cuts. But today, the three will announce they will deepen their commitment to the Long Beach College Promise, a joint effort to encourage more students to enroll in college and to better prepare them to succeed in it.
Now entering its third year, the College Promise is a unique cooperative arrangement between a K-12 district and higher ed institutions.
