Former Sen. Gloria Romero has landed one of the hottest tickets this weekend: an invite to watch the Super Bowl at the White House with President Barack Obama.

Romero will join Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, various lawmakers, Cabinet members and the Obamas watching the Green Bay Packers take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in Dallas.

Romero, who represented cities throughout the San Gabriel Valley in Sacramento until last year, said she doesn't know why she was invited, but is excited to attend with her daughter.

Since leaving the state Senate, she has been serving as the California state director of Democrats for Education Reform, a political action committee. Obama has been a strong backer of education reform.
