National City Teachers To Strike Friday

NATIONAL CITY, Calif. -- A union executive board representing National City teachers on Tuesday approved an unfair labor practice strike which is scheduled to begin Friday."Unless the district calls us back to do some intense negotiations at the table in order for us to reach a fair settlement… that's what we're hopeful for," said Linda Cartwright of the National City Elementary Teachers' Association.The strike would affect 354 teachers and nearly 6,000 students in the National School District. There was no word on how long the strike would possibly last.
