Joel Klein steps down as school chancellor; will be replaced by Cathie Black

Schools Chancellor Joel Klein resigned from his post as head of the city's public education system.
"He leaves a legacy of achievement," said Mayor Bloomberg.
It's a legacy alright.
The mayor also announced that Klein's replacement will be magazine executive Cathie Black.
