U.S. Department of Education releases video showcasing Forest Grove High School

The U.S. Department of Education has released its video showcasing Forest Grove High School.

The video, "Voices of Reform: Transformation at Forest Grove High School," features the personal testimonies of staff members and students.

During a visit to the school in April, Deputy Assistant Secretary John White of the U.S. Department of Education said Forest Grove was the first rural high school filmed as part of the department's plan to highlight successful schools across the United States.

The video describes the change at Forest Grove High under the leadership of Principal John O'Neill.

In 2002, the school ranked among the bottom of high schools in Washington County on state achievement tests. At the time, less than half the school's students met or exceeded state benchmarks in reading and
