DAVENPORT, Iowa —
Nine people accused of accessing President Barack Obama's student loan records while employed by a Department of Education contractor in Iowa are to be arraigned on federal charges.
The former employees of Vangent Inc. are accused of accessing Obama's records at the contractor's office in Coralville while he was either a candidate for president, president-elect or president.
They are charged with exceeding authorized computer access. Their arraignment planned for Monday at the U.S. District Court in Davenport, Iowa.
The charge is punishable by up to one year in prison and a fine of up to $100,000.

High court to hear Arizona school case

The Supreme Court says it will consider ending a lawsuit that challenges Arizona's tax breaks for donations for private school scholarships.

WASHINGTON —
The Supreme Court says it will consider ending a lawsuit that challenges Arizona's tax breaks for donations for private school scholarships.
The court on Monday said it will hear an appeal filed by the state and supporters of the 13-year-old program that provides dollar-for-dollar income tax breaks for donations to school tuition organizations.
Some Arizona taxpayers challenged the program as unconstitutional because religious organizations award most of the scholarships and require children to enroll in religious schools. The suit says the program amounts to an unconstitutional state endorsement of religion.
