Farr: Obama's budget invests heavily in California | thecalifornian.com | The Salinas Californian:

"U.S. Rep. Sam Farr, D-Carmel, released the following statement regarding today’s release of the president’s budget:

The president’s budget invests in a wide range of programs to spur job creation and help families who are suffering through this recession. I’m pleased that the president’s budget invests heavily in California. Our state may be suffering now, but it will be our businesses that drive the recovery. This budget points us in the right direction.

proposed budget extends tax cuts that were enacted last year, putting much-needed dollars back into Central Coast wallets. The budget also calls for $4 billion for housing assistance, $6 billion for California schools, $6 billion for infrastructure modernization and $4 billion for higher education grants."
