Video: Creating the Schools Children Deserve
St. Paul teachers are using their bargaining power to help create the schools children deserve, with fewer standardized tests, smaller class sizes, and media specialists, nurses, counselors and social workers for all schools. Teachers are asking for these elements as part of their contract negations with the district. There's been little progress on these issues since talks began at the beginning of the school year. With a strike vote set for next Monday, teachers are standing with students and parents in urging the district to help them create these conditions that will improve learning.
