Kentucky Parent Files Common Core Lawsuit | Truth in American Education:

Kentucky Parent Files Common Core Lawsuit

Kentucky-FlagDavid Adams, a parent from Nicholasville, KY, filed a lawsuit against the Governor Steve Beshear, Senate President Robert Stivers, the Kentucky Board of Education, Council on Postsecondary Education and Lawrence County Board of Education for “for declaratory and injunctive relief relating to Defendants’ acceptance of Common Core State Standards.”
This is the first lawsuit related to the Common Core State Standards that I am aware of.
Here is the text of the complaint:
Plaintiff, David Adams, for his Complaint against Defendants, the Commonwealth of Kentucky, acting through the Office of the Governor (“Governor”), and Governor Steve Beshear, in his official capacity as Governor of the Commonwealth, Senate President Robert Stivers, in his official capacity as President of the Senate, Roger L. Marcum, in his official capacity as Chairman of the Kentucky Board of Education, Robert L. King, in his official capacity as President of the Council on Postsecondary Education and Cassandra Webb, in her official capacity as chairwoman of the Education Professional Standards Board

Yesterday the West Virginia Board of Education approved a resolution related to how student data will be handled in the state.  Here is a copy of the resolution: It’s a step.
