Education Week at TED has just come to close, but it’s not too late to be a part of the action. With the support of WNET, PBS, and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, TED has put on an Education Week, a great collection of talks hosted by John Legend. This week featured talks from a wide variety of speakers, from a chemist to a psychologist, and from Bill Gates to Sir Ken Robinson.

This week a
video of Jeff Bliss, a sophomore at Duncanville High School in Texas, went viral on the internet. The video shows Jeff telling his teacher off about the ways she had been teaching the class.
Obviously, it is less than ideal to have students shouting in the middle of the classroom just to have their voices heard. That’s why the theme of this week’s chat is “Safe Spaces: Methods for Effective Student-Teacher Communication”, cohosted by our friends over at
Imagine Learning. We’ll be discussing the best ways schools can allow for Student Voice in the classroom, and the best methods students can use to communicate with their teachers.
