The following post is by retired teacher John Dixon. There are only a couple of things that he says that I take exception with:
- There is nothing "controversial" about the motions that somehow disappear, unless you think proposing motions to address UTLA and LAUSD corruption is controversial. To buy into seeing what we propose as controversial, as usual cedes center stage to UTLA and LAUSD, who are well on there way to destroying any possibility of good public education in Los Angeles.
- Also, lamenting that UTLA President Warren Fletcher doesn't answer, while continuing to ask him to, ignores Warren's longstanding practice - that precedes his capturing the UTLA presidency - of rarely responding to phone calls or emails. The solution to this problem doesn't lie in more wasted confrontation rhetoric, but rather in litigation to compel UTLA into fulfilling its legal obligations by holding Fletcher and Co. legally
