$1-million grant to ease transfers for community college students
A California initiative to help community college students transfer to state universities and obtain bachelor’s degrees has been awarded a $1-million grant, officials announced Wednesday.
The grant was awarded jointly to the California Community Colleges and California State University to help develop and raise awareness of a new transfer degree program that will be available to students beginning this fall.
The program simplifies the transfer process between the systems, awarding community college students an associate’s degree in a number of disciplines that will be accepted by Cal State campuses that offer similar programs.
