The Allegheny Valley School District's teachers union on Monday rejected a district request to have teachers return to the classroom Wednesday.
"We asked them to come back in a show of good faith, and they said no," school board President Scott Redman said.
Allegheny Valley Education Association President Jennifer Novich confirmed the district made the request but refused to reveal the union's response.
She said the strike continues today. She wouldn't comment about future dates.
Teachers went on strike Sept. 16 and can remain on strike through Oct. 13,
