SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- A new survey finds that California residents are increasingly worried about the impact of state budget cuts on public schools and unhappy with how political leaders are handling education.
The Public Policy Institute of California released the results of its sixth annual K-12 education survey late Thursday.
The institute says 62 percent of Californians believe there isn't enough state funding going to education, and 43 percent of public school parents who say spending cuts have affected their children's schools a lot.
The survey found that only 16 percent approved of Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's handling of education, while the Legislature only got a 15 percent approval rating on K-12 schools.
