Sacramento State President Alexander Gonzalez expressed hope and optimism despite growing concerns from faculty members regarding the budget cuts during the town hall meeting on Feb. 9.
The meeting highlighted California’s ongoing budget crisis and how it would affect Sac State.
“Obviously, California is in a crisis. I don’t have to repeat it,” Gonzalez said.
But repeat it he did, emphasizing many times the “tough” state of the economy and the “difficult” times facing students, faculty and staff.
Although students were at the forefront of the discussion, there were only about a dozen of them present in Capistrano Hall’s Music Recital Hall, compared with the larger number of staff and faculty members.
