Entering the New Epoch
"A few weeks ago, in an elegant turn of phrase, UC President Mark G. Yudof encapsulated all that is wrong with California's higher education, giving voice to what could be a new epoch of protest in the Golden State.
And yes, I did say Mark Yudof.
'Securing the funding of higher education is securing the promise of California,' the much-maligned President said. 'The trend of chronic disinvestment in the (UC) and the (CSU) systems must be reversed. The road to a stronger economy and a brighter future for California runs straight through its great public universities.'
Bingo Mr. Yudof, million dollar question answered. The problem here is state funding, not Yudof, our campus' favorite pariah."
