Parents Across America endorses #BlackLivesMatterAtSchool action by Washington State teachers
Parents Across America endorses the action of teachers, counselors, instructional assistants, office staff and other educators who will wear “Black Lives Matter” t-shirts to school on Wednesday, October 18th.
We understand the urgency for educators to stand up against racism in our cities and schools and we support their actions.
Schools across the country are grappling with institutionalized racism, disproportionate discipline rates for students of color and struggles to close the opportunity gap. Teachers have been on the front line, seeing clearly the discrepancies and doing what they can to support all children.
Parents Across America supports this action, representing the need for equity in our schools and in our society.
