What makes it nearly impossible for the non-minority public to understand what amounts to the purposeful destruction of minority students' intellect in still segregated public education is the fact that neither these relatively privileged and predominantly White folks nor their children have ever had to experience what the vast majority of minority children continue to be generationally subjected to on a daily basis in what amounts to a purposefully failed innercity public education system that Whites abandon a long time ago.
The fact that the mainstream media continues to be unwilling to report the truth about what really goes on in these de facto segregated schools- be they charter or regular public schools- speaks volumes when it comes to the media's unwillingness to make their core White audience uncomfortable with this unpleasant truth that they scrupulously refuse to report.
What any teacher or staff member in any one of these innercity charter or public schools would tell you- if they weren't afraid of losing their jobs and getting blacklisted, so they could never find another job teaching- is that they are merely going through the motions, since those running these innercity schools literally have no expectation that minority children can learn.
These schools are just in the business of collecting average daily attendance (ADA) and other monies from the state and federal government. It's a business where the careers of those running these schools has always been and continues to take precedence over the needs of their acutely vulnerable and purposefully under-educated minority students.
These kids weren't born intellectually inferior, but by the time these schools are finished them they certainly are. But if you dare to take notice of this easily predictable reality, you are labeled a racist and targeted for removal.
