California Board of Education to vote on new spending template

The California Board of Education will vote this month on proposed guidelines for school districts to receive extra funding next fiscal year for disadvantaged students.
The new funding, known as Local Control Funding Formula, is meant to improve learning for low income and English-learner students, among others. The template - in which school districts will have to detail how the extra funding will raise student performance and what goals they’ll try to reach - goes before the board January 15. th
