Here's just a few of the sites and sounds from this morning's protest before the Chicago Public Schools unelected board meeting. I didn't go in----but I look forward to reading the reports from Substance NewsLabor Beat, and I believe Katie Osgood was inside as well.

Student Voices at CPS Headquarters

I did not get this young man's last name today, but his first name is Alberto, and he goes to Roosevelt. He's also on the Albany Park Neighborhood Council, and to be honest, he gives me hope for the future.  He spoke this morning outside CPS headquarters in Chicago.

Becky Malone at CPS Headquarters

Becky Malone, from the 19th Ward Parents, also spoke today at CPS headquarters. Her group has been trying to get Rahm's unfunded longer day reworked into something resembling a better school day, but so far the little man isn't budging because he's always right.

Not sure what went on inside the CPS board meeting today; I'm sure it was a real give and take what with the board members accountable to only one man.
