COULD WE PLEASE GET CREATIVE AND ALSO SHOW SOME OUTRAGE ?
I would like to see the Illinois Teachers’ Retirement System officials come up with some ideas for alternative funding in order to lower the unfunded liability of the system. Rather than appear to roll over and cave in to the suggestions of some state legislators and the anti public employee forces, how about some outrage and demands for funds to be restored by the State?
Here are some ideas I would suggest:
1. State legislators and government officials must reduce or eliminate their own pensions and health insurance, and those savings be put into TRS.
2. TRS should sue all legislators who previously voted to violate the State constitution and steal,(‘borrow” was their term, but something borrowed is usually returned) from TRS. The resulting money from the lawsuit could be
