Illinois teacher salaries on a ten year slide.

Jim Broadway reports in his authoritative Springfield newsletter that Illinois teacher salaries have declined by 6% in constant 2010 dollars over the past ten years.

While teacher to student ratios have remained constant, administration to student ratios have gone from 253:1 in 1996 to 204:1 in 2010.

Commenting on the prospects of pension-killing SB51 Broadway says, “The three-option pension “reform” of SB512 seems likely to get a vote in the House next week, but the outcome is uncertain.”
