Gay & Dusty: The Spirit of ’76 Lives On

Coal and logging trucks have been our constant companions on the Appalachian back roads of Kentucky and continue in Virginia. Often Dusty must stop his bike at the side of the these mountain roads to let them pass. We see coal mines and logging operations but also some spectacular scenery. Several times along our route we intersect with the Appalachian Hiking Trail and promise ourselves that we will one day try a portion of it.
