Stargel Bill to Grade Parents: State Intrusion in Parenting

State Rep. Kelli Stargel, R-Lakeland, filed a bill Tuesday to require public schoolteachers in prekindergarten through third grade to grade parental involvement on student report cards.

For all grades -- pre-K through 12 -- the bill says "each teacher shall monitor and assess the quality of the involvement of the parents of each student in his or her class."
