Cornel West Among Blacks, Others, Call For Mass Protest Against Obama

In a petition titled Open Letter To The Left Establishment, Dr. Cornel West, Noam Chomsky, Glen Ford of the popular African American blogBlack Agenda Report, and several other African American and progressive notables stated “the Obama administration has demonstrated itself to be an impeccable enemy of reform.”
The letter also accuses the Obama administration of “suppressing” protest movements saying that the almost complete absence of protest from the left has emboldened the most right-wing elements inside and outside of the Obama administration to pursue and act on an ever more extreme agenda.
